Job Description

As an Office Assistant in the Wake County Sheriff’s Office Medical Department, you will be an important part of the team. Your main job will be to help with paper work, organize health records, and do other tasks to make sure the office runs smoothly. You will work with medical records, answer phones, and help the medical staff with different tasks.

In this job, you will help the team by keeping everything organized. You will also make sure that medical records are scanned into a computer system, papers are ready to be shared, and people who call get the help they need. You will work closely with the sheriff’s office medical team, and sometimes you may need to help in other parts of the office.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Scan paper health information into the electronic health record system, following specific guidelines.
• Prepare packets with important medical documents and make sure they are ready to be shared.
• Email and fax important medical documents to the right people.
• Answer phone calls and help anyone who needs assistance.
• Create clinic orders in the electronic system after a nurse checks on a patient.
• Help out with other tasks or at other locations if needed.

• Work Schedule: You will work on weekdays, weekends, and holidays if needed.
• Pay Range: $22.13 – $25.43 per hour
• Market Range: $22.13 – $28.73 per hour
• Work Setting: You will work in a clinic at the Wake County Sheriff’s Office Medical Department.

Required Qualifications

To be considered for this job, you need to meet the following requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• One year of experience working in an office or doing similar administrative tasks
  (If you have other education or work experience, that can count too!)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with medical words or working with medical records.
• Good knowledge of computer programs like Microsoft Office.
