Job Summary
As a Medical Assistant in the Mobile CHS team, you will work with doctors and nurses to provide important health services to people who may not have easy access to healthcare. You will travel to different locations in Harris County to help people stay healthy. Your work will make a big difference in the lives of many individuals and families.
Responsibilities
In this job, you will have many important tasks to do:
- Help Healthcare Providers: Assist doctors and nurses during patient visits, making sure everything runs smoothly.
- Care for Patients: Welcome patients with a smile, check their vital signs (like blood pressure and temperature), and write down their medical history.
- Perform Health Screenings: Carry out simple health tests, such as checking blood sugar levels, to help monitor patient health.
- Teach About Health: Share information about staying healthy and the services we provide to empower patients to take charge of their health.
- Keep Records: Make sure patient records are accurate and private, following healthcare rules.
- Handle Administrative Tasks: Help with scheduling appointments and managing patient paperwork to keep things organized.
- Work in Mobile Services: Travel to different locations using a mobile health unit, setting up for services and making sure we have everything we need.
- Be a Team Player: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide the best care possible to our community.
Qualifications
Required Skills
To be a great Medical Assistant, you should have these skills:
- Good Communication: Be able to talk clearly and kindly with patients and team members.
- Organizational Skills: Keep track of many tasks and maintain accurate records.
- Compassionate Attitude: Show genuine care and kindness towards patients.
- Team Spirit: Enjoy working with others and contributing to a positive team atmosphere.
Preferred Skills
Having these skills is a plus:
- Bilingual Skills: Being able to speak Spanish or another language helps us reach more people.
- Comfort with Technology: Being able to use electronic health records and other technology is helpful.
Education and Experience
To apply for this position, you need:
- Education: A high school diploma or equivalent. Completing a Medical Assistant training program is preferred but not required.
- Experience: Previous experience in a healthcare setting is helpful, but we also welcome new candidates who are eager to learn!

This job is located in Harris County, Houston, Texas. You will travel to different community sites to provide healthcare services.
Salary and Benefits
