Job Description:
AdventHealth Ocala is looking for a Consumer Access Specialist to join their team. This full-time job is a great opportunity to help people in the community by making sure patients get the care they need. As a Consumer Access Specialist, you will work with patients to register them for services, check if their insurance will cover their care, and help with any payments. You will also work with other healthcare workers to make sure everything runs smoothly.

Job Responsibilities:
As a Consumer Access Specialist, your main tasks will include:
- Registering Patients: Make sure patients are correctly registered for all services.
- Checking Insurance: Verify the patient’s insurance and make sure they’re covered for their treatments.
- Getting Approvals: Get the needed approvals (pre-certifications or authorizations) before patients get care.
- Handling Payments: Help patients make financial arrangements and collect payments for services.
- Cashiering: Process payments and manage cashiering tasks.
- Fixing Errors: Correct any mistakes in the registration and billing information.
- Working with Other Healthcare Workers: You will work closely with doctors, nurses, and other staff to make sure everyone is on the same page for the patient’s care.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent service to patients and others, making sure they are treated with respect and kindness.
- Phone Support: Help answer the phone and manage the switchboard when needed.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Experience in healthcare or with patient registration is helpful but not required.
- Good communication skills and a helpful attitude are important.
- Ability to handle sensitive patient information carefully.
- Ability to work well with a team.
- Basic computer skills to use hospital systems and software.
