Job Summary:
The Public Health Research Assistant will help with research projects that focus on improving health in our community. This job involves gathering information, studying health problems, and working with others to understand what people need to stay healthy.

Responsibilities:
As a Public Health Research Assistant, you will have many important tasks. Here are some of your main responsibilities:
- Help with Research: You will work with the team to gather information by doing surveys, talking to people, and studying health trends.
- Collect and Organize Data: You will help collect important data, then organize it so it’s easy to understand and analyze.
- Report Findings: After gathering the information, you will help write reports that explain what you found. This will help the team understand what health problems need attention.
- Work with the Community: You will talk to community members and work with local organizations to gather information.
- Help Improve Health Programs: You will assist in making sure that the health programs we have are working well and help improve them when needed.
- Keep Everything Organized: You will keep track of research records and make sure everything is neat and easy to find.
Qualifications:
We are looking for someone who has the following skills and qualities:
Required Skills:
- Good Communication: You should be able to talk and write clearly so others can understand you.
- Attention to Detail: You will need to be careful and pay attention to small details when working with data.
- Interest in Research: You don’t need to be an expert, but you should be excited about learning and helping with research projects.
- Good Organization: You should be able to keep track of many tasks at once and stay organized.
- Basic Computer Skills: You should know how to use a computer and programs like Microsoft Word and Excel.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in Public Health: If you’ve worked or volunteered in health-related fields before, that’s a plus!
- Knowledge of Data Tools: If you know how to use programs like Excel or other tools to analyze data, it will be helpful.
- Bilingual Skills: If you speak more than one language (especially Spanish), that’s great for working with a wider range of people.
Education and Experience:
Here’s what we’re looking for in terms of education and experience:
- Education: You need to have finished high school or have a high school diploma. If you’ve taken any classes in public health or science, that’s even better!
- Experience: It’s okay if you don’t have a lot of experience. If you’ve done any volunteer work or helped with research before, that will help!
Location:
This job is in Harris County, Houston, Texas. You will be helping people in this community, which is made up of a lot of different people from many backgrounds. Your work will help keep everyone healthy!
